Privacy Policy

Zebra Herd is a sports social app for creating takes, commenting on games and plays, following sports topics, earning reputation points, and using adult-only social Gentleman's Bets. This draft explains the data the product is designed to collect and use.

This policy is an engineering draft for product implementation and must be reviewed by legal counsel before public launch.

Account data includes email address, authentication identifiers, profile id, handle, display name, avatar, profile preferences, linked social actions, and account status.

Age-gate data includes date of birth and derived age status such as under-13 blocked, minor, or adult. We use this to block under-13 use and to keep adult-only features away from minors.

User content includes takes, comments, images, reports, profile bio, Gentleman's Bets, bet consequences, appeals, and related metadata. Published content may be visible to other users.

Product and safety data includes product events, session identifiers, anonymous identifiers, app version, device/platform signals, moderation reports, enforcement records, appeal records, rate-limit records, and security audit logs.

Stripes data includes reputation events, points, badges, league credibility, reversals, visibility preferences, and notification records. Stripes have no cash value and are not redeemable.

Monetization data may include ad preferences, consent state, impression and click events, placement quality metrics, and jurisdiction fields used to prevent adult-only or betting ads from being shown where they should not be shown.

On mobile, Zebra Herd may request microphone and speech recognition permissions so you can dictate takes and call notes. These permissions are optional and controlled by your device settings.

Notification settings may be stored so you can control product, sports, social, Stripes, and Gentleman's Bet notices.

We use first-party product analytics to understand app usage, improve reliability, and debug product flows. Product event payloads are designed to avoid raw emails, passwords, dates of birth, draft bodies, comment text, and other sensitive free text.

Microsoft Clarity is present in the codebase but is disabled by default for launch. It may only initialize after the product has appropriate disclosure and consent controls. If enabled later, Clarity may use cookies or similar technologies to measure site/app behavior.

We use local storage and similar technologies for signed-in sessions, preferences, bookmarks, drafts, and app reliability.

Real ad display is disabled for launch unless separately approved. When ads are enabled, we may use Google AdMob, Google AdSense, or similar ad services. Personalized ads, non-personalized ads where consent is required, and betting ads must follow your consent, age-gate, and jurisdiction settings.

Sponsored modules and ads must be labeled clearly. We do not sell Stripes, Gentleman's Bets, or user content as redeemable value.

We use data to authenticate accounts, operate public and private app features, personalize sports feeds, enforce safety rules, prevent abuse, support age-appropriate access, provide notifications, measure product quality, process deletion/privacy requests, and comply with legal or app-store requirements.

We use service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, sports/news data, app operations, and moderation tooling. Current or planned providers include Supabase, Vercel, Microsoft Clarity if enabled, Google ad services if enabled, sports/news data providers, and moderation/AI providers if used.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.

Zebra Herd is not for children under 13. If we learn that a user is under 13, the account must be blocked and associated data deleted, disabled, or quarantined according to our child-safety process.

Users under 18 may use the general app where allowed, but cannot use Gentleman's Bets, betting ads, or other adult-only features.

We keep account and content data while your account is active or as needed to operate the service. We delete or de-identify data after an approved account deletion request except where retention is needed for security, legal compliance, moderation records, fraud prevention, audit logs, or dispute handling.

Public content deletion may remove content from normal product surfaces before all backups, caches, logs, or legally retained records expire.

You can update profile preferences, ad preferences, notification settings, Stripes visibility, and account settings in the app. You can request deletion, access/export, correction, or privacy review through our Privacy Rights page.

You can request account deletion through the Account Deletion page or in mobile settings when the in-app request flow is enabled.
